Queensland LGBTIQ counselling service Diverse Voices has a position vacant for a bookkeeper and project support worker.

Diverse Voices’ mission is to provide an anonymous peer-to-peer teleweb counselling service supporting the LGBTIQ community and aiming to make useful referrals, improve the mental health and overall wellbeing of those who contact the service.

Since 2013, Diverse Voices has been part of QLife, a nationally-oriented counselling and referral service for LGBTIQ people. Counselling services are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year between the hours of 3:00 pm to 12:00 pm Australia-wide on 1800 184 527.

The Bookkeeper and Project Support Worker will support the organisation’s Treasurer and the QLife Program Coordinator. The position will be conducted over 16 hours per fortnight, between 9.00am to 5.00pm, on a day that is mutually agreeable with the management committee.

Responsibilities and duties of the role will include processing of Diverse Voices’ payroll on a fortnightly basis via MYOB, maintenance and administration of payroll system, assisting the Treasurer in Accounts payable and receivable functions, and assisting the QLife Program Coordinator with volunteer scheduling and event management.

Applications should have demonstrated knowledge and skills including sound knowledge and experience in working with MYOB, knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to payroll processes and relevant qualification or an equivalent level of expertise and demonstrated experience related to Bookkeeping.
