John Barrowman Shares Awesome Pro-Trans Message On His 50th Birthday

Out actor John Barrowman turned 50 on Saturday and he marked the occasion with a pro-transgender rights message on Instagram.

The Arrow and Torchwood star has helped launch a line of t-shirts supporting trans rights to raise money for US charity Trans Youth Equality Foundation.

On an Instagram a photo of Barrowman wearing one of the shirts with the slogan “It Was Never About The Bathrooms”, he wrote: “Our transgender friends and family need our help and support as a lot of decisions are going to be made on their behalf that don’t take their needs and rights into consideration.

“Most of us have the luxury of being who we are and living our truth. We must stand in solidarity with those who are not as lucky… Let’s show our support for our transgender family because it was never about bathrooms.”

The t-shirt line comes after the Trump administration’s recent decision to controversially revoke Obama-era guidelines for transgender students.
