Joanne, Vybe and Coco Jumbo headline Brisbane Pride Fair Day

Joanne, alongside Drag Race Down Under superstars Vybe and Coco Jumbo, will headline Queensland’s biggest LGBTQIA+ community celebration as Brisbane Pride Fair Day returns to New Farm.

Brisbane Pride has excitedly announced that the ARIA Award-winning dance-pop icon will be a part of the annual Pride festivities.

Joanne’s ’98 smash hit Jackie became an enduring dancefloor anthem and earned her an ARIA Award for Highest Selling Single, and will bring her unmistakable pop and dance energy to the Fair Day stage.

Joining Joanne will be Vybe and Coco Jumbo, two stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under. The best friends have also just completed their run on Drag Race Down Under vs the World.

Hosts Paul Wheeler and drag legend Miss Synthetique will bring their trademark energy to New Farm Park.

“What a celebration we have planned,” Brisbane Pride President James McCarthy said.

“Joanne is an absolute icon of Australian dance-pop, while Vybe and Coco Jumbo are among the most exciting stars to emerge from Drag Race Down Under. And of course, Brissie legends Miss Synthetique and Paul Wheeler are the perfect way to round out this iconic event.”

Join us for Fair Day at New Farm Park

Fair Day will take place at New Farm Park on Saturday, October 24, from 10 am to 5 pm, following the Brisbane Pride Rally and March through the streets of Fortitude Valley.

“Fair Day is one of those extraordinary days when our whole community gets to come together in one place – to celebrate, to make new connections, to see old friends and, importantly, to be visible,” Mr McCarthy said.

“This year, we are incredibly excited to bring the Brisbane Pride Rally, March and Fair Day back to New Farm. We start with a rally around the issues and the causes that matter to our community, we march, and then we come together to celebrate.”

Fair Day will feature a full day of live entertainment, drag, music, community performances, food, markets and stalls from LGBTIQA+ organisations, services, businesses and community groups from across Queensland.

The event will also form part of a major day of LGBTIQA+ celebration across Brisbane, coinciding with Melt Festival’s River Pride Parade, which will take place on the Brisbane River later that afternoon.

Then the official Melt Opening Night Party will take over the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Fair Day is ticketed, and you can grab your ticket now to save lining up on the day. Stall registration is also open; to find out more, check out the Brisbane Pride website.

But first, we rally and march

The 2026 Brisbane Pride Rally and March will start the day’s festivities.

It all begins with the community gathering from 9 am at Empire Hotel on the corner of Ann and Brunswick Streets in Fortitude Valley.

The Rally will begin at 9.30 am, with the March to New Farm Park stepping off at around 10 am.

McCarthy said the new route would create an important connection between Pride’s history as a protest movement and its role as a celebration of LGBTQIA+ communities.

“Pride has always been both protest and celebration. We march because there is still work to do, and we celebrate because we have achieved so much together,” he said.

“At a time when LGBTQIA+ people continue to face attacks on our rights, our identities and our visibility, it is more important than ever that we show up for one another. The Rally and March are our opportunity to make that collective voice heard.”

“Then we head to New Farm Park for Fair Day – to dance, laugh, perform, share stories and celebrate the extraordinary diversity of our communities. That combination of protest, pride and joy is what Brisbane Pride is all about.”

It’s free to join the Rally, but if you’re marching in a group of five or more, Brisbane Pride would like you to fill in a registration form to ease logistical planning.
