Legally Blonde star Jennifer Coolidge has officially been confirmed to appear in the third instalment of the hit film.
When news of Legally Blonde 3 broke fans were eager to know if the fabulous scene-stealer would return.
After all, what will Elle and Bruiser do without Paulette?
Jennifer Coolidge will reprise her role as Paulette for Legally Blonde 3
Jennifer Coolidge is known for many of her iconic roles.
Since appearing as “Stifflers mom” in American Pie Coolidge has gone on to make continuous appearances in film and TV across the years.
In 2009 she even made a cameo appearance in the ill-fated American attempt at Kath & Kim in 2009.
Let’s not forget that Coolidge was even iconic enough to be chosen as a character on Snatch Game for Drag Race Down Under.
However, her standout role since American Pie has arguably been her role as Paulette in Legally Blonde.
Affable, clumsy, ditzy and loveable, Jennifer Coolidge stole every scene as the iconic Paulette Parcelle.
Who can forget the “bend and snap?”
When the film returned for its second run she again returned for the role.
It’s hard to imagine the third instalment without her and co-writer Mindy Kaling as confirmed it will be worth it.
“It’s going to be really juicy”
After seeing Coolidge in her latest role in The White Lotus, Kaling drew fresh inspiration.
In a recent interview, she revealed her thoughts on what the role may be like.
“Obviously, Paulette was just, like, so integral to the whole franchise” she said.
“But once we saw [The White Lotus] we were like, ‘Ooh, we really want to make sure that she has something really juicy to do.'”
With twenty years having passed since the first film there’s plenty of room to explore more growth for the characters.
How will this change our favourite hot mess is yet to be revealed.

What we know about Legally Blonde 3 so far
Details of what exactly will transpire in the film are still scarce at this stage.
Reese Witherspoon will serve as producer and star of the film, with her production company behind this installment.
Co-writer Mindy Kaling has promised to keep many of our favourite parts of the original in tact.
“Bend and Snap is forever. We definitely have a lot of fan favorites from the original movie” she said.
However, there are going to be plenty of fresh new faces as well.
“There’s definitely gonna be a lot of new faces in the movie.”
“Reflecting the world as it is now is something that’s really important to Reese.”
“So having there be like diversity is super, super important. You can definitely count on that.”
In another interview with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge, Reese summed up the tone of the film nicely.
“The movie is such a feminist movie too, at the time, about really that your life doesn’t have to be defined by your romantic relationships.”
“It can be defined by your girlfriends, by your sense of self-worth, by your job, your education, your accomplishments. So it’s interesting to visit characters 20 years later.”
With no release date announced yet, we’ll definitely be waiting.
