Senator Jacqui Lambie has blasted Pauline Hanson for introducing a “vaccine discrimination bill”, calling out her party One Nation’s record of discriminatory policies in a fiery speech.

Senator Hanson wanted to pass the bill to stop vaccine mandates and “the pandemic of discrimination” against unvaccinated Australians.

However the independent Tasmanian MP called Hanson “hypocritical” and rejected her claims in a blistering takedown.

“If you want a champion against discrimination, it’s not One Nation,” Lambie said.

She said the conservative party has a long history of discriminatory policies against people with disability, people of multicultural backgrounds, and LGBTIQ people.

“One Nation wants autistic children taken out of schools because, and I quote, ‘They’re a strain on the rest of the class.’

“People don’t choose to be autistic, taking them out of school is discrimination. One Nation just loves it.

“One Nation wants a ban from any majority Muslim countries, even if the person isn’t Muslim. People don’t choose which country they’re born in. That is discrimination. One Nation has no problem with that either.

“One Nation is opposed to same-sex marriage. People don’t choose to be gay. That is discrimination.

“One Nation is not a fighter against discrimination. One Nation seeks to profit from it. It’s just a fundraising exercise for them.”

Senator Jacqui Lambie backs vaccination in fiery speech

During Lambie’s speech, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson looked on via videolink to the parliament.

Senator Lambie went on, “If you’re able to get vaccinated, and choose not to, discrimination is the wrong word.

“You have freedom to make a choice, but if you make a choice, those choices have consequences.

“Being held accountable for your own actions isn’t called discrimination, it’s called being – you wouldn’t believe it – a goddamn, bloody adult.

“That’s right, it’s being an adult. It’s putting others before yourself. That’s what this country is supposed to be about.

“We should celebrate vaccinated Australians. You are fighting for our freedoms to take control of our lives again. That’s what you’re doing and good on you.”

After heated debate, the Senate ultimately rejected Senator Hanson’s bill, 44 votes to five.

However, several Morrison government MPs crossed the floor to vote with One Nation.

They were Matt Canavan, Gerard Renick, Alex Antic, Sam McMahon and Concetta Fierravanti-Wells.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation has terrible LGBTIQ rights record

Pauline Hanson and her One Nation party do have an appalling track record on LGBTIQ discrimination.

Last September, she called for Australia to follow the Trump Administration and “roll back” trans law reform.

Senator Hanson also called for transgender children to be removed from their parents.

Her colleague Mark Latham in the NSW Parliament has also caused outrage with his draft education bill attacking transgender students.

Jacqui Lambie is a woman of conviction and she displayed that conviction in her speech which exposed Pauline Hanson for the parasite she is. I don’t always agree with Ms Lambie but I’ve got to admire her for her strength of character and fearlessness when she stands up to the major parties in the Senate and in the media.
