INDONESIA: CALLS TO BAN LGBT STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY

After hearing about a poster offering counseling and support for LGBT students at an Indonesian university, the country’s education minister Muhammad Nasir has declared that he wants LGBT students banned from all Indonesian universities.

‘There are standard values and moral standards to be maintained. The campus is a moral guardian,’ Nasir said.  ‘LGBT groups should not be allowed to develop and be given space to conduct their activities. Even more serious are those LGBT members who 05go into universities with scientific studies, or hold discussion groups,’ the Education Minister continued.
