David Subritzky fooled I’m A Celebrity co-stars as ‘fake influencer’

Last month, David Subritzky joined the Australian version of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here as a fake influencer in a twist on the reality TV competition’s usual format.

The Queenslander told his campmates he was social media superstar “The David”, a celebrity shoe designer with millions of online followers.

In reality, he’s a nightclub host who is living on the Gold Coast, the UK and New Zealand.

David Subritzky competed on the show to raise money for LGBTIQ organisation Pride Foundation Australia.

However two weeks ago entertainer Dylan Lewis was ultimately was named King of the Jungle.

David Subritzky earlier told TV Week after going onto the show under false pretences, he was bracing himself for trolling.

However he said he had received a heartwarming reception from I’m A Celebrity viewers.

“I’ve received Instagram messages from parents whose children [who’ve] not been able to accept themselves, they’re just thanking me,” he said.

“To be given a platform where I can just spread positivity and let people know that they can be themselves and not feel hated, it’s amazing.”
