Acclaimed Melbourne singer Courtney Barnett is taking over the world… After performing her song “Depreston” on the Ellen show and the talk show host hailed the Aussie as one of her favourite artists, the indie star topped the US’ Billboard independent album chart with her debut LP, Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. Late last month, the album entered the official UK Albums chart at No. 16, after debuting at the local charts at No. 4. Courtney will tour Australia later this month, and has sold out her May 9 show at the Hi-Fi in Brisbane.

Dutch DJ Don Diablo released the first official club-friendly remix of the song last month.

Florence and the Machine have released new single “Ship To Wreck” from their forthcoming new album. “I was thinking about my own self destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down, enjoy/destroy, create/devastate etc,” lead singer Florence Welch said of the track. “When you’re in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most.” Florence’s new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful will be released in Australia on May 29.
