Trans and gender-diverse Australians are being invited to have their say in a new national trans health survey by Trans Justice Project, which aims to help shape the future of gender-affirming healthcare across the country.
The survey is asking trans and gender-diverse adults to share their experiences, priorities and hopes for Australia’s healthcare system.
The results will contribute to a report designed to inform future advocacy and provide recommendations to governments on improving access to gender-affirming care.

A chance to have your voice heard
The survey is open to anyone who is trans or gender diverse, aged 18 or older, and has lived in Australia at any point during the past five years.
Participants will be asked about their experiences accessing gender-affirming healthcare, the challenges they’ve faced and what they believe a better system should look like.
As a bonus, everyone who completes the survey also enters the draw to win one of six $50 GiftPay vouchers once the survey closes.

Building a stronger future for trans healthcare
“The survey is about more than collecting data,” Trans Justice Project says, “It’s about building a community-led vision for a healthcare system that genuinely meets the needs of trans and gender diverse Australians.”
“Gender-affirming healthcare helps people thrive by allowing them to live authentically, but many people are facing barriers due to cost, limited access and discrimination.”
By gathering stories and experiences from people across the country, the project hopes to paint a clearer picture of what’s working, what isn’t, and where governments can make meaningful improvements.
Helping shape a landmark report
The findings will be analysed by expert trans health researchers and compiled into a national report featuring practical recommendations for both Federal and State governments.
The report is expected to focus on ways to improve funding for gender-affirming healthcare, strengthen access to services, invest in trans led initiatives and protect access to care into the future.
Trans Justice Project also hopes the survey will help build momentum for broader community advocacy, with the long-term goal of creating a national trans healthcare plan that works for everyone.

Get involved
Whether you’ve had positive experiences, faced barriers, or simply want to help improve healthcare for future generations, this survey is an opportunity to make your voice count.
Every response will help build a stronger picture of what Australia’s trans and gender diverse communities need and what a more accessible, affordable and inclusive healthcare system could look like.
If you’re eligible, now is the perfect time to get involved and help shape the future of trans healthcare in Australia.
