Police were reportedly called to the Sydney home of The Project host Hamish Macdonald last weekend, after neighbours complained about an allegedly noisy, allegedly wedding-like party.

The Daily Mail reported at least two NSW Police officers knocked on the door after complaints from Hamish’s neighbours.

One described Macdonald’s party to the Mail as “intrusively loud”.

Another neighbour claimed the speeches they overheard at Macdonald’s inner-Sydney home gave the impression it was a wedding reception.

“I could hear the speeches but not word for word. The music was blaring like it was on in my own house. Every single room,” they said.

But one of the neighbours said the music was turned off just minutes before midnight, and minutes after the knock on the door from police, the Daily Mail reported.

In late November, Macdonald was spotted wearing a ring on his wedding finger while appearing on the Network 10 program.

But the private star hasn’t yet confirmed or denied an engagement or marriage to boyfriend Jacob Fitzroy.

Hamish introduced Jacob Fitzroy in 2019, coming out publicly together for the first time.

The pair held hands on the red carpet at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball in Melbourne that year, prompting a flood of excitement at the time.

The couple also shared a sweet kiss in a photo booth at the event that was shared to Instagram.

Hamish Macdonald explained during the 2021 Mardi Gras it was “a bit of a surprise” to see the sweet moment “become such news”.

“I did something that felt to me the most natural thing in the world, hold Jake’s hand,” he said.

“It was really a very simple gesture of care.

“We were flooded with messages from all over the world from people saying how happy they were and what it meant.

“I feel really proud to make it really clear that we should all be able to be who we are, come what may.”

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Hamish became emotional describing his relationship with Jacob.

“He’s my best friend and I just feel tremendously lucky to share our lives together,” he said.

“He’s… I got a bit emotional. He’s really the best person I know. He makes life pretty fun. I didn’t know such happiness was possible.”

Hamish Macdonald deleted his public social media accounts mid-last year.

He regularly co-hosts Ten’s The Project, and last month blasted Prime Minister for “gaslighting” the LGBTIQ+ community.

Earlier this month he hosted ABC’s telecast of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras earlier this year.
