Let’s go, lesbians! After photos of Greta Lee and Rebecca Ferguson kissing on set in central London sent the sapphic internet into a tailspin last week, Deadline has confirmed the two will be starring in an upcoming rom-com titled Honeymoon / Funeral.
The film is expected to hit theatres in 2027, and will centre on a unique meet-cute between Lee and Ferguson on a flight from LA to London.
What do we know?
The rom-com, written and directed by Julia Bicknell and Nahnatchka Khan and expected to be released in 2027, will feature Ferguson and Lee as “two women who meet on a flight from LA to London – one en route to her honeymoon by herself after being left at the altar by her girlfriend, the other headed home for her mother’s funeral – and wind up spending the week together.”
Speaking of meet-cutes, Khan and Bicknell seem like the perfect pair to deliver the much-anticipated lesbian rom-com.
While director Khan brings her history with comedies and rom-coms (Always Be My Maybe, Totally Killer), screenwriter Bicknell brings her even longer track record of beloved sapphic hits, including Yellowjackets, Midnight Club, and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Greta Lee
Lee’s performance in Celine Song’s Academy Award-nominated film, Past Lives, earned her nominations for Best Actress at the Critics’ Choice awards and Golden Globes.
More recently, she’s starred in Netflix’s The Last House and the critically acclaimed Late Fame.
Ferguson and Lee have also worked together in Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite, so the two have a history – and I know I’ll be sat to see them in Honeymoon / Funeral next year!
