Art Simone has turned a nasty tweet trying to shade her time on Drag Race into a banging bop celebrating a drag queen’s hardest gig: BINGO!
Talk about a ball drop banger. You can’t deny the cultural influence of drag bingo in Australia. It’s massive.
And while our own drag sensation Art Simone may not have taken THAT crown, she always finds a way to celebrate. Turning her passion for the art form of drag into something we can all appreciate.
This time, Art is celebrating a staple event you can find across the country, Drag Bingo, and she’s bringing some friends along for the ride.
“Bingo features the very special guest stars of Granny Bingo, Edith Vale and Maureen McGillicuddy,” Art told QNews.
“It is my love letter and a gift back to the drag communities of the world.”

So why did Art decide to do a pop song about bingo?
“There isn’t a single bloody pop song about bingo,” Art shared ahead of the song’s release. “And as bingo is the number one employer of all drag queens across the world, why isn’t there a song for us?”
“I’m very excited. It’s going to be very, very camp. But I do have to say it also was forged out of me being a stubborn person because the first time I did Drag Race.”
“Someone said to me, ‘Oh, you just lost, you loser! Back to Drag Bingo, where you belong’.
“I say, ‘How dare you! Drag Bingo is one of the best bloody gigs in the world, and only a talented person can host a drag bingo’.”
“So this is for you, whoever you are. Enjoy my song. You’re gonna love it.”

Art looks gorgeous in a bingofied outfit, and it looks like she had a ball filming the music video for Bingo.
“We did a lot of stuff in front of the green screen, and seeing this, I don’t know the canonical age of Edith Vale,” Art paused, “But I’m going to say 80-year-old lady dancing in front of a green screen to my song; it just felt right.”
Art, our dabbers are ready, and we are ready for the balls to drop just as much as the beat!
Hopefully Art will perform Bingo at Broken Hill for Rainbow in the Outback this weekend.
