Here’s When Gold Coast Gay Venue MP’s Is Reopening

Well-known Gold Coast gay hotspot MP’s Nightclub will reopen with a new look on Thursday, January 25.

The venue, located on Orchid Avenue in Surfers Paradise, is relaunching under new management who promise an inclusive atmosphere and entertainment from DJ’s and Queensland drag queens.

Local queens Alexis Diamond, Tina Bikki (pictured), Scarlett Fever and Coco Verdose will all host and perform at the venue, management announced.

Drag queen Vanilla Foldher is set to perform on the venue’s opening night next week.

Spokesperson Claire Kingston said MP’s will be a “mixed venue proudly catering for the gay, lesbian, bi and transgender community.”

“We just want people to know it’s going to be a great place to come and you will feel safe,” she said.

“If you want to express yourself and be covered in glitter when you come in, that’s fine… just as long as it’s not going to get on the furniture!”

The revival of the revamped MP’s comes a few months after the re-opening of nearby gay nightclub Rise – formerly Escape – on Cavill Avenue in Surfer’s Paradise.
