There’s no such thing as too much Pride

In a landmark moment for Queensland’s LGBTQIA+ community, this year’s Pride Rally, March and Fair Day will return to New Farm.

Kicking off Pride Day is the annual Brisbane Pride Rally and March, followed by the much-anticipated Pride Fair Day.

The Rally will assemble at the corner of Ann and Brunswick Streets from 9 am for speeches, before the March sets off towards New Farm Park at 10 am.

It’s free to join the Rally, but if you’re marching in a group of five or more, Brisbane Pride would like you to fill in a registration form to ease logistical planning.

Brisbane Pride Fair Day remains Queensland’s largest LGBTQIA+ event, and the third largest of its kind in Australia.

Fair Day is ticketed, and you can grab your ticket now to save lining up on the day. Stall registration is also open; to find out more, check out the Brisbane Pride website.

For the first time, the events will fall on the same day as Melt Festival‘s River Pride Parade and Melt Opening Night Party at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Together, these events will turn Saturday, October 24 into an extraordinary celebration of diversity, inclusion, joy and community.

‘Pride has never been just one day, or one event’

This year’s program theme is United Colours of Pride.

Brisbane Pride President James McCarthy said the theme sets the tone for a festival defined by visibility, celebration and solidarity.

“Pride has never been just one day, or one event,” McCarthy said. “It’s the sum of everything our community has fought for, and everything we still have ahead of us.”

“This year, sharing the day with Melt Festival feels significant. It’s a reminder that our celebrations are stronger when we stand together, and that Brisbane’s queer community is woven through every part of this city’s cultural life, not set apart from it.”

“United Colours of Pride is about recognising that every person who walks in that march, every stallholder at Fair Day, every voice at the rally, brings a different story — different struggles, different joys, different histories.

“That’s the truth this festival exists to tell. That unity was never about sameness; it’s about choosing each other, again and again, in all our colour and complexity.”

Brisbane Pride Festival runs from September 26 to October 31.
