Four exercises you need to boost your strap-on stamina

Strap-ons have the been THE accessory of 2025. Every lesbian lover, sapphic angel, bi babe, queer cutie, and nonbinary baddie has been talking about them, thinking about them… and using them. But, let’s be real: wielding one is a bloody work out for the wearer.

The awkward shimmy into the harness can’t be all for nothing! It takes time and effort to get that damn thing on, so strap endurance is an absolute must for tops and switches.

Which is why, when I saw fitness trainer and our hero, Lizzy Bristow (aka Coach Daddy, which I will be calling her in this article because how could I not) share tips on how to boost strap stamina, I knew it was my civic duty to share.

Here’s all the exercises you need to improve your strap game. You can do these as a full work out, like Coach Daddy shows us, or you can add them into your usual rotation.

Planks

Think of planks as the ultimate prep. As Coach Daddy says, they “closely mimic the position you’re in”… in certain positions.

Start with straight up planks (the only straight thing about this convo), then superset with plank pikes and plank shoulder traps.

These planks fire up your core, stabilise your shoulders, and improve wrist endurance. All absolutely essential for holding steady when things get hot and heavy.

Coach Daddy breaks down the order, and the full work out, in more detail in the below video.

Marching glute bridge

Get your hips high and activate those glutes!

This one’s a favourite for improving “hip thrusting motions,” helping you stay powerful and in control while on top.

Marching bridges isolate each glute, making your hips strong, steady, and ready to take your partner on the ride of their life (sorry, I’m having too much fun writing this).

Reverse crunch

Coach Daddy says you need to make sure you tuck those hips under and keep your lower back on the ground for this one.

Reverse crunches build lower abdominal strength, supporting pelvic control and endurance. Need I say more?

Negative push-ups

Negative push-ups are all about your upper body strength and core endurance.

For these, you slowly lower your chest to the floor, before pushing back up on either your toes or knees.

Want an extra challenge? Coach Daddy adds a plank kick after to engage the whole body—shoulders, core, and glutes—just like when you’re in action.

The takeaway? Strap-on sex is great for your health

Look at all the strength and endurance you need! And, with a little training, you can last longer, thrust harder, and stay in control without losing steam.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your harness, hit the mat, and remember: practice makes perfect.
