But they fell well short of this year’s highest paid entertainer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, whose earnings of $130m pushed him from last year’s 22nd spot to top of the list.

Chat show host Ellen DeGeneres came in at number 16 with an estimated $77 million in wealth ahead of Elton John, placed 26, with $60 million in the bank for the year.

Other LGBT allies on the rich list include Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Schumer, Dolly Parton, Chance the Rapper and Britney Spears.

Half of the top 10 are made up of musicians, while two athletes – Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and basketball star LeBron James – also made the cut.
