PFLAG’S Grandparents and their grandkids

A beautiful new photo book released by PFLAG Brisbane shows intimate photos of PFLAG grandparents caring for grandkids born to same-sex parents.

“What about the children?”

PFLAG spokesperson and supermum Shelley Argent said the group produced the book because she was sick of hearing opponents of marriage equality ask, “What about the children?”

“So, what we’ve done is we’ve put together a ‘brag book’. A book filled with genuine photos of PFLAG grandparents with their grandchildren from same-sex couples.”

Each of the grandparents also gives their thoughts on marriage equality in the book.

Our children are fine

“The message is that these grandchildren — our children — are fine,” said Shelley.

“Indeed, they are just the same as anybody else’s grandchildren or children. They’re loved equally, they’re no better, they’re no worse, they’re also just children that are loved.”

Shelley launched the photo book in Brisbane with federal Labor MPs Terri Butler and Tanya Plibersek.
