Feast Festival’s 2026 program is here and is all about the joy

Adelaide’s LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural festival is back this November, with Feast Festival unveiling its “biggest” ever season under one guiding theme: Joy.

Launched on Thursday at Jackson Square, the 2026 program runs Sunday 1 to Sunday 22 November and will include three weeks of theatre, cabaret, comedy, drag, visual art, film and community events across Adelaide, created by and for the queer community.

160+ events with joy

This year’s Pridevember spans more than 160 events from a range of artists.

“The 2026 program is full of artists who chose joy as their subject, their method, their argument, and they have pulled it off spectacularly,” Creative director, Katherine Sortini said.

Kicking off with an Opening Night Street Party, it runs through to the Adelaide Queer Film Festival, screening at Piccadilly Cinema from 11 to 15 November.

The Feast Festival Hub returns as the season’s central gathering point, alongside the much-loved Gayla.

As always, the festival closes with its free community favourite, Picnic in the Park at Whitmore Square / Iparrityi, on Sunday 22 November.

Feast Executive Director, Skye Bee, shared just how important the theme, joy, is this year.

“It is how we resist, how we love out loud, and how we remind the world we are still here and still glorious.

“These three weeks are an invitation. To be seen. To be loud. To feel the JOY of a room full of people who get it.

“When our communities gather, something shifts… we take up space that was never freely given, and we fill it with colour, sound, and unapologetic pride.”

New leadership

The program launch comes just months after Feast announced a new dual leadership structure, appointing Skye Bee as Executive Director and Katherine Sortini as Creative Director.

While the festival has had similar leadership roles in the past, this is the first time the organisation has appointed both an Executive Director and Creative Director in tandem.

And what better time for fresh leadership. The 2026 season marks a significant milestone for Feast, which turns 30 in 2027, building toward what organisers describe as a landmark celebration of three decades of queer arts, culture and community in South Australia.

Feast Festival is Adelaide’s LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural festival, a not-for-profit run by a small team, a voluntary Board and a crew of volunteers, developing, presenting and championing queer artists year-round.

The festival runs each year in November, or as it’s known locally, Pridevember.
