Everything we know about Kylie Minogue's AFL Grand Final performance

With Kylie Minogue performing at the AFL Grand Final, the gays have never cared so much about the footy. Here’s what we know so far.

Kylie Minogue is headlining the pre-game show of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 26.

The AFL have been chasing Kylie for years, and rumour says it’s shaping up to be the biggest production ever staged at the MCG.

The announcement that the two-time Grammy winner was locked in in March. It’s the earliest time in recent memory a headline act for the Grand Final was announced.

“As a Melburnian, I’m so excited to be coming home for the biggest day in the Aussie sporting calendar,” Kylie said.

“I’ll not only be performing, but I’ll be one of 100,000 fans at the ‘G, watching the wonder that is footy.”

Australia’s pop princess is already home, preparing for her most iconic performance yet. The game will start at 2.30 pm AEST; we don’t yet know what time the pre-game entertainment will begin.

Honestly, this has us so much more excited than Snoop Dogg last year.

Mushroom Group CEO Matt Gudinski said, “We’ve tried for some time to make this a reality, and now is the right time! Mushroom is so excited to welcome Kylie home to perform at Australia’s biggest day in sport at the MCG.”

“We’re working closely with Kylie’s team to create and produce what will be one of the most memorable Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment shows yet.”

We hear that Kylie’s AFL Grand Final pre-game performance will feature cutting-edge staging, dancers (of course), and visual elements we’ve never seen before at the event.

The show is estimated to run for 20 minutes.

A Kylie Village will be set up in Yarra Park, which will also host an AFL and Kylie merch store. For fans wanting Kylie and AFL memorabilia early, it will open on Wednesday, September 23.

“The finals are off to a spectacular start,” said AFL CEO Andrew Dillon. “The footy has been unbelievable, and the crowds and viewership enormous.”

“Kylie’s performance on Grand Final day is the biggest production and show we have ever produced. We are so excited Kylie is coming home to perform on our biggest day in front of 100,000 at the G and millions more watching the broadcast.”

We also hear that Sunrise will host a Kylie extravaganza at Fed Square on the Friday public holiday.

How do I get tickets to the 2026 AFL Grand Final?

Who is playing in the AFL Grand Final has yet to be decided, and general tickets have yet to be released.

If you are a club member, check your team’s comms for registration details. This will include ballot dates, priority groups and eligibility requirements.

Ticket allocations are limited.
