Tickets are finally on sale for Sir Elton John’s Australian tour, and the legendary singer has said it may be one of his last.
Elt will bring his career-spanning “All The Hits” tour to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on December 8.
“Australia has been one of my favourite countries to tour in ever since my first visit there at the start of my worldwide career in 1971,” he said in a statement.
“It is incredible to think that my drummer on that tour, Nigel Olsson, is still with me today.
“Some of my most memorable concerts have taken place in venues all across the continent.
“The Australian audiences always seem to bring out the best in us, and I am certain there will be many more fantastic evenings when we visit in December.”
But Elton said he wants to reduce his touring commitments and this tour’s regional dates “will give me one last chance to say farewell to the people who have been so faithful to me over the decades.”
“The simple truth is I want to spend more time with my family and less time touring,” he explained in a statement.
“I am only too aware of just how precious the time ahead is. My sons [Zachary and Elijah] are growing up so quickly, their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them.”
