Bisexual and bicurious women in Australia will soon have a new place to live out their fantasies as the exclusive, all-female sex club “Skirt Club” prepares to launch in Sydney.
Skirt Club allows open-minded women to explore their sexualities with parties sometimes involving burlesque dancing, body shots and bondage, according to Skirt Club co-director Renee Nyx.
Though the activities on offer at events may vary, there are some important rules: no men, no pictures, no pressure and members must sign confidentiality agreements.
Skirt Club comes to Sydney after already being launched in London, Manchester, Miami and New York City.
Renee Nyx told news.com.au: “There is truly not a place in Sydney at the moment that bi-curious and bisexual girls feel necessarily welcomed. There is a very strong gay scene, and that is fantastic but there is a bit of intercommunity negativity towards this.”
“Some bi-curious girls may not feel comfortable enough to go to a lesbian gathering. They might not be comfortable enough to date a gay girl, because they’re thinking, ‘You know what, I’m here to experiment, I don’t know what to do, I’m nervous,’ so this an opportunity for women to explore in a safe environment and feel empowered,” she said.
When Skirt Club launches in Sydney on June 29, it will be a ‘Mini Skirt’ event, which is a social event (usually held in a bar) allowing women to meet each other and learn more about Skirt Club’s concept. These are held every three or four weeks, while play parties (which are usually held at private homes), take place every six weeks.
Anyone attending the launch Skirt Club Sydney needs to apply online and go through a vetting process to become a member.
