Kornbread Jete has taken to Twitter to announce she will not be returning for Drag Race season 15 after her injury.

The larger-than-life contestant was removed from season 14 due to injury.

Since her departure fans have been hoping she will return in the following season.

Kornbread, an early favourite

Late last year Kornbread Jete was announced as part of the most diverse Drag Race cast in herstory.

Joining Kerri Colby she entered the workroom as one of two out trans contestants on the show.

Since the first episode, three other contestants have since come out as transwomen.

Bosco, Jasmine Kennedie and Willow Pill have all since discussed their trans identity on or after the program.

Kornbread became known and loved both on and off the show for her loud and proud personality.

She struck up a beautiful and protective relationship with Willow Pill and was easily considered an early favourite to win.

However, this was not to be.

During episode five it was revealed Kornbread had suffered an akle injury and would not continue her time on Drag Race.

“I will not be returning to Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race”

In previous seasons contestants have been offered “an open invitation to return” when they have been removed due to sickness or injury.

Season 9 contestant Eureka was famously the first to return after injury.

Later Veronica Green returned for season 3 of Drag Race UK after withdrawing due to contracting Covid-19.

However, this offer was not made to Kornbread on air, leaving many wondering if she would return.

The Drag Race star has since announced she will not be returning for season 15.

“My run on season 14 was nothing short of AMAZING” she said.

However, she followed with the bad news.

“Unfortunately I will not be returning to Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race” she stated.

After a flurry of responses and a call for her to return as an All-Star, she followed up with a second announcement.

“And no I’m not on anybodys all stars. Wasn’t my decision :).”

It’s sad news for fans of the however Kornbread reminded us there are “Great things ahead!”

Just this week it was rumoured that she will appear in the upcoming Hocus Pocus sequel.

We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Kornbread Jete.
