A community BBQ in Brisbane is being planned to celebrate the International Transgender Day of Visibility at the end of the month.

Since 2009, March 31 has been recognised around the world as the Trans Day of Visibility, with an aim to celebrate the lives and achievements of the transgender community and raise awareness of the work still needed to end the discrimination and violence still faced by trans people worldwide.

The BBQ will be held at the shaded BBQ area in New Farm Park closest to the Brunswick Street entrance of the park.

Children, family, friends and allies are all invited to attend.

Sausages (including vegan options) will be provided, as will bread and a supply of drinks, with attendees also welcome to bring their own food.
