Comedian Geraldine Hickey has spoken about her wedding to her wife Cath, in the couple’s backyard “lesbian pit”.

Geraldine and her wife got engaged in 2019. In November, the two women tied the knot at “one hell of a party” at their home in South Gippsland. And the guest list was bursting with Australian comedy stars.

Geraldine told The Project the two women signed their marriage certificate in their “lesbian pit” – Geraldine’s prized paved dugout fire pit in the backyard.

Celia Pacquola and Nicolette Minster were her best women, and Rhys Nicholson, Nath Valvo and Khyran Wheatley were flower girls.

“Khyran nailed it. He walked out, big smiles, throwing rose petals,” Geraldine said.

“Nath was right behind him, but he stopped to have a bit of a gossip.

“Rhys came up behind and pushed him in the back, told him to get going and he slammed flower petals on the ground.”

Furthermore, Geraldine Hickey and her partner Cath and their wedding guests earlier shared photos of the nuptials to Instagram, and they’re pure joy.

Career Overview

Stand-Up Comedy

Hickey launched her comedic journey at the 2001 RAW Comedy Festival, catapulting her from Albury to Melbourne’s vibrant comedy scene. Making waves, she clinched the runner-up position in the national finals, paving the way for her burgeoning career. Fast forward 16 years, and Hickey graced the Raw Comedy finals stage again, this time as a co-host. A staple at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Hickey’s comedic prowess is also showcased at events like the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Radio

Hickey’s resonant voice and charisma earned her a spot hosting 3RRR’s female-centric sports show, “The Downlow”. Recognizing her appeal, the station promoted her to co-host the “Breakfasters” in 2016.

Television

Hickey’s television credits include appearances on notable shows such as “The Project”, “Tonightly with Tom Ballard”, “Have You Been Paying Attention?”, and “Hughesy, We Have a Problem”. Additionally, she shone in her role as Dr. Stephanie Huddleston in “Metro Sexual”, an 8-episode comedy series on the Nine Network in 2019. Her captivating portrayal led to her reprising the role in the subsequent season for 9GO! and OUTtv.
