Skier Remi Lindholm told Finish media he endured unbearable pain during the Winter Olympics because of a frozen penis. Worse, the skier says this is not his first chilly willy!
Freezing temperatures caused organisers to delay the start of Sunday’s men’s cross country ski event by an hour. They also reduced the usual 50-kilometre course to 28 kilometres because of the chilling temperatures. At the time the race commenced, the temperature gauge read minus 17 degrees.
Remi Lindholm said he was annoyed that the race was shortened, but also admitted he couldn’t offer a better solution.
Anyway, he had bigger things to worry about. He faced a very hard race against stiff competition.
The skier’s thin ski suit and underwear did not offer sufficient protection.
“You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished.
“It was one of the worst competitions I’ve been in. It was just about battling through.”
Second bout of Chilly Willy
The 24-year-old finished 28th in his first-ever Olympic Games. He said he warmed his chilly willy with a heat pack after the race.
“When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable.”
He said he previously suffered a frozen penis at the Ruka World Cup in November. But he said this time was worse.
Luckily, people on Twitter offered helpful advice to protect Remi in future races.
