Celine Dion has announced her first tour of Australia in a decade.
The Canadian music icon will perform in Sydney on July 27, Brisbane on July 30, Western Australia on August 4 and Melbourne on August 7, as part of her “LIVE 2018” tour.
Celine released a video message to fans saying she was very excited about the upcoming tour and she couldn’t wait to see everyone.
The singer may not have been to Australian shores for 10 years, but in that time she’s released three albums and has performed more than 1,000 shows as part of her Las Vegas residency.
Speaking to News Corp, Celine teased a three-decade retrospective of songs at the Australian concerts.
“We’re not going to duplicate the show we’re doing in Las Vegas,” she said.
“The point isn’t to take the show we do in Vegas and bring it to Australia. It’s about creating a new show.
“We’ve looked at the songs that were on the charts in Australia, the songs that weren’t, and what we played 10 years ago.
“Obviously we’re going to play ‘My Heart Will Go On’, ‘Because You Loved Me’, ‘The Power Of Love’ — I can’t not do those songs.”
She also praised Australian-born superstar Sia, who Celine collaborated with on her 2013 album Loved Me Back To Life.
“Sia is one of my favourite female artists of all time,” she said.
“She’s been writing me a lot of songs.
“We either have to do them all and call the album Sia By Celine or we choose the best of them.”
