Brisbane Pride has revealed the nominees and opened voting for the 61st annual Queens Ball Awards this June.

The Queens Ball is the longest-running continuous LGBTIQ event in the world. On June 25, the glitzy gala event will return to the Brisbane City Hall with this year’s theme “Masquerade”.

And each year, the Ball’s annual awards “recognise both the wonderful work and the visibility of LGBTIQ+ individuals and groups within our community.”

“From the tip of Queensland to the beautiful Tweed, we have so many active LGBTIQ+ community members supporting meaningful efforts to address our needs and experiences,” Brisbane Pride President Bec Johnson said.

Voting open for this year’s Queens Ball Awards

Brisbane Pride has unveiled all the nominees for this year’s awards, with everyone invited to cast their votes for their LGBTIQ+ legends.

“Congratulations to all finalists we can’t wait to celebrate with you all on June 25 at Brisbane City Hall,” Johnson said.

Find out more about every nominee and cast your votes at the Brisbane Pride website. Voting closes Friday, May 13 at 12.00pm.
