BROKEN HEEL FESTIVAL RETURNING TO OUTBACK

The far-west New South Wales mining town of Broken Hill will again play host to the Priscilla, Queen of the Desert-themed Broken Heel Festival.

Running from the 9th to 11th September, the event will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the iconic Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The festival base is Priscilla’s spiritual home in the Outback – Broken Hill’s Palace Hotel.

Last year’s inaugural Broken Heel festival (pictured, below) attracted over 1600 people over three days. This year, ladies and lads from all over Australia will again go bush – in style – for an entire weekend. Expect glitter, feathers, mayhem, colour, frocks, heels, wigs and a whole lotta fabulous, all to the soundtrack we love!

A handbag stuffed full of stunning drag queens and entertainers from around the country will keep the crowds entertained. Expect up close and personal moments with cast and crew from the movie, including June Bennett (Shirl).

This Priscilla fan celebration not only offers an authentic link to the award-winning movie but also the internationally successful stage musical. Australia’s original “million dollar bus” from the award-winning stage show will be on display exclusively at the Broken Heel Festival.
