Broken Heel Festival invites you back out to the Outback

The town of Broken Hill in far-west New South Wales is set to host the Broken Heel Festival once again.

The festival, which is themed around the iconic Australian film “The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert” will take place from September 7th to 11th at The Palace Hotel.

The Palace Hotel, as well as being the heart of the festival, is also, of course, the spiritual home of the movie.

This year marks the 28th anniversary of the film, and the festival is expected to attract guests from all over Australia.

Star-studded lineup

While Broken Hill 2022 was an absolute riot, this year’s event promises to be even more spectacular.

Kick off the festivities on Friday night with Frock On or Frock Off, a fabulous night of cabaret, comedy, opera, live music & DJs.

On Saturday, Relive the movie and participate in the Country Mardi Gras parade starting at the Post Office and walking up the main drag of the town from the Town Square, before heading to The Palace Hotel, with the parade route going from the Post Office to the Corner of Oxide & Argent Streets and back.

Then, party on into the night with even more entertainment, along with a display of the million-dollar “Priscilla Bus” and a fireworks show.

Start Sunday slow with an appropriate dress, have breakfast in a moo moo while enjoying a Bloody Mary and chatting about the previous night’s good time.

Join us for free entertainment and a chance to explore the famous Silverton village, meet local legends, visit galleries and museums, book a camel ride and catch a bus to Mundi Mundi for an iconic photo op.
