Britney Spears has thanked the #FreeBritney movement for their role in the removal of her father from her “abusive” conservatorship.

The singer directly addressed the fans supporting the movement in an emotional Twitter post after they celebrated her major victory in the Los Angeles Superior Court last week.

“#FreeBritney movement… I have no words,” she wrote on Twitter.

“Because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship… my life is now in that direction.”

Britney also shared that their support had touched her.

“I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it,” she wrote.

“I feel your hearts and you feel mine… that much I know is true.”

Last week, Britney Spears had a major victory in her conservatorship case when a judge suspended her father, Jamie Spears, as conservator.

Britney Spears ‘still has a lot of healing to do’

Britney has long objected to the years-long legal arrangement. In June the singer told a court of the extent of the “harm and trauma” she suffered within it.

Several documentaries have also reported disturbing allegations of coercion and surveillance of the singer for several years. Jamie Spears has denied any abuse.

Britney Spears fans started the grassroots #FreeBritney campaign to demand the singer regain autonomy over her life, finances and affairs.

Britney’s conservatorship case will return to court on November 12, at which a judge could terminate the conservatorship entirely.

Earlier this week, Britney wrote on Instagram, “Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do.

“Thankfully I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it’s ok to slow down and breathe.

“Only through self love I can pray … love … and support others in return.”
