Win A Pop Up Wedding At Brisbane’s Same Same Weddings Expo

Same-sex couple at their wedding

The publishers of Australian wedding magazine Same Same Weddings are holding their next same-sex wedding expo next month, and they have a pop-up wedding to give away to one lucky local couple.

The team from Paddington Publications held Brisbane’s first same-sex wedding expo in April, and it was such a success they’re planning another for Sunday, August 26 from 10am to 3pm at 107 Milton Road in Milton, next to McDonald’s.

“We were so happy with the amazing response to our first expo in April,” Julz Fullerton from Paddington Publications said.

“We had hundreds of couples join us and we received some great feedback from them. We heard how much they loved knowing that all of the vendors and providers at the expo were accepting and inclusive.”

As well as the traditional exhibitor stands, the free expo will feature a unique “mix and mingle” concept where everyone will have the opportunity to meet the best of South East Queensland’s wedding industry and chat to them about their wedding plans in an informal, relaxing and all-inclusive environment.

There will also be an opportunity to pick the brains of vendors at Q&A Expert Panel sessions held during the event.

And for the first time the team are also offering a fabulous opportunity to one same-sex couple who wants to get hitched at a pop-up wedding to be held at the August Expo.

The lucky couple will be invited to supply the love along with up to 30 of their nearest and dearest to witness the ceremony and celebrate along with our Expo exhibitors and attendees.

The wedding sponsors include marriage celebrant Sarah May Alexander, Life Portraits, Unveil Films & Photography, Xennox Diamonds, Bassline Studios Band, Angie’s Floral Design, Cake That!, Fuse Pyrotechnics, Stop Prop & Pose Photo Booth, and Rydges Hotels and Resorts.

To enter, email Julz at with you and your partners’ full names and dates of birth, suburb, one photo and up to 150 words telling your love story so far and why you would love to say “I do” at the Expo. But be quick, entries close 5pm this Friday, July 20.

Free registration for the expo and more event details can be found on the Facebook event page here.

Paddington Publications has been publishing wedding magazines for almost 30 years, and earlier this year launched their first edition of Same Same Weddings magazine.
