Brisbane Pride has announced the organisations and community groups across Queensland that will share in $94,500 in grants that support Pride festivals, community events and grassroots initiatives uplifting, empowering and celebrating Queensland’s LGBTQIA+ communities.
Established in 2010, Brisbane Pride Community Grants continue a legacy of inclusion, equity and community empowerment.
Aligned with the Brisbane Pride Strategy 2025–2028, these grants reflect Brisbane Pride’s long-term commitment to amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices, strengthening community connections and supporting the wellbeing of every member of the community.
$83,500 has been awarded to support LGBTQIA+ Pride festivals, events and community initiatives across regional and metropolitan Queensland through the Queensland Pride Grants program.
A further $11,000 has been awarded through the Brisbane Pride Community Grants Program to support 11 grassroots projects.
“Through the Brisbane Pride Community Grants and Queensland Pride Grants, we are helping community organisations turn their ideas into action,” said Brisbane Pride President James McCarthy. “From regional Pride festivals and community celebrations to programs supporting young people, culturally diverse communities, trans and gender diverse people and those experiencing isolation.”

“Pride is about more than one day or one event. It is about creating opportunities for people to come together, build connections, celebrate who they are and ensure that LGBTIQ+ communities are visible and valued right across Queensland.”

Recipients of the Brisbane Pride Community Grants
This year’s Brisbane Pride Community Grants include $1,500 to headspace Ipswich to support Rainbow Chaos Springfield. The community development initiative provides connection and support for LGBTQIA+ young people in the Ipswich region.
Sparks on the Spectrum will receive $1,000 to support an accessible social connection group for neurodivergent LGBTQIA+, Sistergirl and Brotherboy people. And QTrans will receive $1,000 to deliver Queer CALD Connections: Creating Community, Strength and Pride, supporting queer migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and other culturally and linguistically diverse community members.
Lord Sev from QLD Leather Pride said they were so grateful to be one of the recipients of a Brisbane Pride community grant.
“Every year we strive to deliver a Brisbane Leather Week and annual calendar that is more inclusive and accessible,” Lord Sev said. “That highlights and celebrates the women, queers and gender non-conforming folks in our leather community and strives to remove the barriers to access and safety”.
“This grant will allow us to invest in a portable ramp for all future events, to build better access guides, expand our Auslan coverage and develop our event recovery and rescue kits, to support disabled and chronically ill community members in our spaces.”
