The publishers of Australian wedding magazine Same Same Weddings are holding the next Same Same Weddings Expo this month.
The team from Paddington Publications held Brisbane’s first same-sex wedding expo in April and it was such a success they have planned their next expo for Sunday, 26 August from 10am to 3pm at 107 Milton Road in Milton, next to McDonald’s.
Entry is free and all couples are welcome.
“We were so happy with the amazing response to our first expo in April,” Julz Fullerton from Paddington Publications said.
“We had hundreds of couples join us and we received some great feedback from everyone.
“We heard how much they loved knowing that all of the vendors and providers at the expo were accepting and inclusive.”
As well as the traditional exhibitor stands, the free expo will feature a unique ‘mix and mingle’ concept, where everyone will have the opportunity to meet the best of South-East Queensland’s wedding industry and chat to them about their wedding plans in an informal, relaxed and all-inclusive environment.
There will also be an opportunity to pick the brains of vendors at the Q&A Expert Panel sessions held during the event.
And, for the first time, a real wedding will take place at the expo.
At 3.15pm, the winners of the Pop Up Wedding Competition, Emma and Cait (pictured), will tie the knot and attendees and exhibitors are invited to witness their marriage ceremony along with 30 of their nearest and dearest.
The Brisbane couple met six and a half years ago and have three beautiful children.
“I want to show the world what she means to me,” Emma wrote in their competition entry.
