Australian Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce this morning joined calls for quarantine flasher and far-right British media celebrity Katie Hopkins to leave the country. Reminiscing about his role in the Johnny Depp Scottish Terrier saga, the Beetrooter said Hopkins should “Pack your bongo and get out of the country.”

Channel 7 flew Hopkins and Caitlyn Jenner into Australia this week to appear on the reality television show Big Brother VIP. Both were able to enter the country despite thousands of Australians remaining trapped overseas because of government-imposed arrival caps. Hopkins and Jenner are both prominent opponents of lockdowns and other COVID-related restrictions.

Frighten the shit out of them

Both are required to quarantine for 14 days before commencing filming.  Jenner thus far remained silent about Australian restrictions. However, on Saturday, Hopkins took to Instagram Live to boast of her deliberate defiance of hotel quarantine rules.

“I’ve been told when they bring three meals a day to the door… I have to wait 30 seconds before opening the door.

“And then I can open the door but only with a face mask.”

However, Hopkins said she opened the door naked the moment she heard someone outside. She said she wanted to “Frighten the shit out of them and do it naked with no face mask.”

The Beetrooter

In an appearance on ABC Insiders, newly re-installed deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce joined calls for Hopkins deportation.

“I‘m the one who wanted to send home Johnny Depp’s dogs home so I have no problem sending home someone who wants to flout our laws.

“If you want to do that, pack your bongo and get out of country!”

Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews issued a statement confirming that her department would review Hopkins’ visa status.

“It is despicable that anyone would behave in such a way that puts our health officials and community at risk.

“I have directed Australian Border Force to immediately consider the facts of this matter and urgently review whether this individual is complying with the requirements of her visa.”

Meanwhile, over 21,000 people so far signed a petition at Change.org to deport Hopkins and #BoycottChannel7 trended on Twitter.
