Aussie actor Liv Hewson has teamed up with a co-star to host new LGBTIQ podcast The Gay Agenda from Netflix.

The new podcast launched this week and features LGBTIQ+ creatives across different industries.

The Gay Agenda is created by lesbian actress and singer/songwriter Jasmin Savoy Brown, who stars in Amazon series Yellowjackets and the upcoming Scream reboot.

She’s co-hosting the show with producer and nonbinary actor and comedian Liv Hewson.

The pair are starring together on Yellowjackets. They play two members of a teenage soccer team who are stranded in the wilderness together.

On their new Netflix podcast, Brown and Hewson are interviewing creative trailblazers in the queer community.

“I’m proud of The Gay Agenda,” Savoy said.

“It’s joyful, it’s inquisitive, it’s welcoming. I think it’s a real reflection of the LGBTQ+ community and I hope our listeners feel the same.

“Interviewing guests this season made me a better person.

“Hearing people’s unique stories and perspectives on life and happiness was a learning experience and I don’t take that for granted.”

Hewson said they want the podcast to be about “connection and healing” as well as “irreverence and silliness.”

“There’s room for all of it… it’s serious and it isn’t,” Hewson said.

“We contain multitudes! Part of the impetus behind this podcast was creating a space to talk about being LGBTQ in entertainment that centered on something other than pain.

“The pain is there of course, but the joy is too! We want to live in joy.”

The first episode features nonbinary Arrow and The Killing actor Bex Taylor-Klaus.

The trio discuss “their love of Shakespeare and Tegan and Sara, softball and growing up queer and Jewish in the South.”

All eight episodes of The Gay Agenda will drop over consecutive weeks on major podcast platforms.

Liv Hewson’s romantic drama Under The Skin is streaming on Stan

Liv Hewson has previously starred alongside Drew Barrymore on Santa Clarita Diet and Nicole Kidman on Bombshell.

Last year the 26-year-old also appeared in the romantic drama film Under The Skin by Australian David O’Donnell.

The film follows Denny, a free spirit and artist who falls in love with lawyer Ryan. However the couple’s relationship is tested when Denny questions their gender.

But in a casting twist, the film’s lead role is played by four different actors: Liv Hewson, Bobbi Salvor Menuez, Lex Ryan, and Chloe Freeman.

Australian actor Alex Russell also plays Ryan.

Under the Skin is streaming on Stan.
