Ask the Experts: Pet Care with Pet Angel Funerals

Pet Angel Funerals

We spoke with Scott Gunnell from Pet Angel Funerals about how to farewell a beloved pet, a difficult time for many in our community.

An uncomfortable situation

The lady just stood there, stuck to the spot, bawling her eyes out, holding her pet in her arms in a plastic bag. My uncle, Tom Jorgensen, was working on a building site next to a veterinarian clinic when he saw the lady. He’d also recently had a bad experience after losing a pet, and thought, “there must be a better, more compassionate way to support people in this situation.”

What to do?

When we started researching the problem, we found there was little choice and very outdated options to choose from. Years ago, you could either bury your pet or leave them at the vet. While
pet crematoriums were an improvement, nothing stood out for us. There was only one option: we had to start our own business.

Our family supports you

When I tell people I own Pet Angel Funerals I’m often bombarded with questions such as “why would you do that?” or “how do you do such a difficult job?” The answer is simple. My family wanted to raise the industry standard of pet cremation and make the process transparent for you, the pet owner.

The very best for your pet

We aim to comfort you during this difficult time while bringing the experience into the twenty-first century. Brand new, purpose-built crematoriums, modern fit-out vehicles, as well as luxury Mercedes-Benz hearse transfers ensure everything goes to plan.

We know this is no replacement for the pet you’ve just lost. But we hope we can help make it just that little bit easier.
