And Just Like That, our favourite city gals are returning for a second season with executive producer Michael Patrick King still on board. But will Samantha Jones return?
Season two of the hit follow up to Sex and The City has now officially been renewed by HBO.
And it looks like everyone is coming back for a second run.
And Just Like That, it had a lot to live up to
When the reboot for Sex and The City was announced everyone was a little sceptical.
After so long since the show’s inception there was a lot to live up to.
However, with Michael Patrick King and most of the stars of the show on board, there was still potential.
But it was the glaring absence of Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, that drew the most attention.
After their first run of the show is over, they are all back again and ready to go.
“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors,” said Executive Producer Michael Patrick King.
“The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just like That… our Sex life is back.”
What can we expect from season two?
In just the first two episodes of And Just Like That, a lot went down.
Between killing off of a major character and some serious characteristic changes in the likes of Miranda, some fans were scratching their heads.
Others went so far as to write some scathing reviews.
The show was accused of being part of the “wokeness” that “kills everything.”
But the stars of the show clapped back as they defended the reboot.
As Miranda said, people are allowed to change.
And change they did.
With Miranda now pursuing her love affair with Che Diaz in LA question marks are hanging above her future.
While Charlotte herself seems to be fine her story looks to follow that of her children, including non-binary child Rock.
Carrie has been freed from the torture of working with Che Diaz again and is starting to find her own voice, with a new love interest on the horizon.
But most intriguing of all is the return of Samantha Jones.
How will Samantha Jones return to And Just Like that?
Michael Patrick King and his team made the boldest move at the end of Season One.
Dropping the Samantha Jones return was the series’ biggest cliffhanger.
After keeping the character alive via text message all season long, fans were wondering if she’d ever reappear.
During the final episode whilst standing on a bridge in Paris, Carrie decides to meet her former from for a cocktail in the city.
How that reunion pans out is anyone’s guess.
The chances of Kim Cattrall returning to reprise the role are less than zero.
Fans will now have to wait to see if the charismatic Samantha Jones is replaced by another actor for season two.
Or will producers continue to leave us hanging with Samantha Jones existing only on the sidelines, spoken of, but never seen?
Season Two of And Just Like That has yet to begin production and no air date has been announced.
