Alan Joyce Pie Attacker ‘Banned From Flying Qantas For Life’

Alan Joyce Pie

A Perth man charged with hitting Qantas boss Alan Joyce in the face with a pie has reportedly been given a lifetime ban from the airline.

Tony Overheu, 67, was arrested and has been charged with assault after he pushed the lemon meringue pie into Joyce’s face at a business event last Tuesday.

Mr Overheu later explained he was protesting Alan Joyce’s vocal support of marriage equality, which the man described as “corporate bullying”.

PerthNow and 7 News reported the ban was imposed last Friday, and will prohibit Mr Overheu from travelling on flights operated by Qantas, Jetstar or even any partner airline, such as Emirates.

Western Australian police said the man is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on June 7 to face assault and trespass charges.
