Adele is well known for surprising her fans, but this may be her biggest surprise yet!
Last week in Denmark, the 28-year-old singer jokingly offered to be a surrogate mother for a gay couple who got engaged at her concert at the Forum in Copenhagen.
The British singer initially invited the couple to join her on stage after noticing the quirky Tiger glasses they were wearing but, once on stage, Swedish fan Andre Soderberg quickly dropped to one knee and popped the marriage question, with a plastic ring, to his partner Simon Carlsson.
Adele was clearly overcome, but delighted, as Simon excitedly said ‘Yes’, congratulated the happy couple and emotionally said after the romantic gesture, “That’s amazing, I think I’m going to cry!”
According to reports she then continued with a smile, “Should I be your surrogate mother if you have children? I’d love to have a baby with someone Swedish.”
Andre has since revealed that the proposal was totally unplanned, although he had been considering popping the question previously.
“I had been thinking for some time about asking him to marry me, but when Adele invited us up to the stage, it just happened,” he reportedly said. “I just thought, ‘Why not now?”
