Actress Sophia Forrest, the daughter of billionaire Andrew Forrest, has announced her engagement to her girlfriend, actress Zara Zoe.

The 27-year-old Barons star took to Instagram at the weekend to make the announcement with a sweet video of the engagement.

The two women are seen hugging in a river before Zara later puts her hand up to the camera and shows off the ring.

“She makes heaven a place on earth,” Sophia wrote, along with a ring emoji and the date “21.4.22”.

Sophia is on TV at the moment playing Dani on new ABC drama Barons.

The series centres on 1970s Aussie surf culture and the start of surf brands Billabong and Quiksilver at that time.

“[Dani] is deeply loyal to her friends but hides this big part of who she is, her queerness,” Sophia said.

“She is scared of being rejected due to who she is.”

But the character is an important one because “you can’t know what you can’t see,” Sophia said.

“If you’re constantly watching heteronormative storylines, you can’t connect with a queer storyline that could help you understand who you are,” she said.
