Cabaret Celebrates Queer CultureHomoneurotic

The comedy, colour, glitz and glamour of Queensland's gay community and its stories will be celebrated in the world premiere of HOMONEUROTIC CABARET.

“Homoneurotic is a great night out at the theatre; it's entertaining, thought-provoking, subversive and full of comedy, controversy, colour, glitter and glamour,” says producer and host of the show Chris Maver. “As Queensland celebrates 150 years of history and culture, we're celebrating our gay history and culture, from the sexual orientation of Queensland's first Premier (Robert Herbert and his relationship with Attorney General, John Bramston) to our own personal journeys,” he said.

The award-winning Jacob Diefenbach joins an all-star Brisbane cast. David Dellit performs revamped Broadway songs examining queer beauty, while Cinnamon Brown will treat audiences to a drag extravaganza. New Albumen will perform their hilarious and dark musical comedy songs like Lazy Eyed Susan.

Evelyn Hartogh will comically expose her politically confused, disenfranchised South African roots. Direct from Mount Mee, princess of parody Trasey Chambers will sing a few numbers with her less attractive little sister Stasey. Plus entertainment by The Lesbian Supergroup.

HOMONEUROTIC CABARET, Friday 5 June, 7pm and 9pm, Judith Wright Centre, 420 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. Tickets: $20 & $30. Bookings: 07 3872 9000 or www.judithwrightcentre
