By Lara Hill Comedian and talk show host Rosie O'Donnell revealed on her blog this week that she suffered a heart attack last week and is 'happy to be alive.' "I am lucky to be here", O'Donnell, 50, said in a blog entry called "my heart attack" on her Rosie.com website. The writer and comic said her chest began to ache last week, and she became nauseous and feverish after helping 'an enormous woman' who was struggling to get out of her car. After taking some aspirin, O'Donnell went to see a cardiologist who did an EKG. She was then sent to a hospital where a stent was inserted after doctors found that her coronary artery was 99% blocked. She revealed that Aspirin aided her successful recovery, after seeing the product advertised on television. O'Donnell said she never called emergency services but urged women to learn more about the symptoms of heart attacks.
She is one of my favorite talk show host; Jon Stewart is my favorite. Felt sorry to hear that Rosie O'Donnell had a heart attack, hope she is fine now.
You have rightly stated that women should be aware about heart attack and what to do in such emergencies. Calling 911 is also a suggested option. I have found a site http://www.theheartattacksymptoms.com where there is a lot of information about heart attack and care.
