NERO - WELCOME REALITY Oh yes, feel good, dub step, music funsies!! This duo is going to be the breathtaking, hyped up act at Parklife this year for sure. The first track has you reminded of Bloody Beetroots, thus one might expect a certain stereotypical bassy, electronic, ‘car skidding’ sounds only to then to be educated by Alana Watson’s vocals exploiting Nero’s dance, hypnotic riffs range, thus aligning them with other international dub step acts like Magnetic Man and Underworld. There is not one dull moment on this cd’s a-side listing with tune changing, emotional tracks like ‘My Eyes,’ ‘Guilt,’ and ‘Me and You.’ But clearly saving the best until last, Nero treats us to ‘Crush On You.’ This dance track samples the song Crush On You by Aaron Carter – simply hilarious, cheeky yet brilliant and hard to not smile in awe at the genius. If you haven’t heard this masterpiece yet, check it out. Nero is dead set one of the outstanding bands shaping the music scene of 2011.
