Nominations for the 55th annual Grammy Awards were released on this week and Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Maddow and Janis Ian have all landing nominations for Best Spoken Word Album.

The three lesbian titans are up against some tough (former presidential) competition with Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama also nominated.

Ian is nominated for the audio version of her autobiography, Society’s Child, which is punctuated by her vocals of choruses and relevant lines of her songs that describe each chapter of her life.

Rachel Maddow is nominated for The Unmooring Of American Military Power and DeGeneres is nominated for the audio version of her book, Seriously... I'm Kidding.

Beyond the battle of the Spoken Word nominees it seems that other queer ladies have received noms left and right, including Aussie girl Sia for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, lezzy twins Tegan and Sara for Best Long Form Video, Joan Osborne for Best Blues Album and bisexual actress/comedienne Margaret Cho for Best Comedy Album.

While on the LGBT topic, rapper Frank Ocean has received the most attention. The hip hop star, who opened up about loving a man this year, has received five nominations for the upcoming ceremony.
