Janet Jackson has announced that she is moving into the world of film production, with her first project set to be a documentary exploring the stories of transgender people around the world. Entitled Truth, the documentary will see Jackson as not just the executive producer, but also conducting many of the on screen interviews.

The documentary will be directed by Robert Jason who has previously worked on the 2001 documentary series Style Exposed: Born Male, Living Female, and VH1's makeover show TRANSform Me.

Janet Jackson is no stranger to voicing her support for LGBT issues, including recording an anti-homophobia song, 'Free Xone' on her
