GEN-A GIVE BACK WITH A BACHELOR

Gen-A will host themed night event

Feeling like he was a minority within a minority, David Chan wanted to create a group that celebrated the gay Asian culture, and so 'Gen-A' was born.  Formed 2 years ago, Chan's goal of bringing about a comfortable environment for gay Asian males has more than been achieved.

On June 18th, 'Gen-A' will host another of their themed night events, following on from 'One Night In Asia' and 'Summers Party', this time around auctioning off a series of eligible bachelors for 'Find Your Dream Date'.  Both Australian and Asian men will be on the cards for members to potentially score a date with.  And to give back, all the proceeds will be going towards the Japanese Tsunami Appeal.  Chan specifies that this event is more than just about the gay community, but supporting the Asian community as a whole, and any of the money raised goes towards the club and rewarding its members with various amenities.

Since the club's inception, Chan has seen it blossom to a close network of friends, and feels appreciative of that environment having come-out and feeling as if there was a prejudice against him.  He has since found healthy relationships and seen immense support from the community.

Along with his co-workers, Chan feels very appreciative to the recipients of 'Find Your Dream Date', and hopes it to be another 'Gen-A' success.  The latter half of the year will bring about more special events, I believe speed-dating is on the cards, as well as their usual fortnightly excursions.
