On a more positive note for the state's HIV bodies, the Sportman Hotel has been able to offer Queensland Positive People a cheque for $2729.50. The money comes from the proceeds raised at the recently held CWC Cabaret which for twenty years has been held to help those in need living with HIV/AIDS.

Queensland Positive People is a peer based organisation whose aim is to actively promote self-determination and empowerment for all people living with HIV throughout Queensland. The group runs numerous programs, services and events to meet the needs of HIV positive people state wide.
