Ray Mackereth is the publisher of Qnews with well over 16 years’ industry experience. He started QNews in the year 2000 8 years ago. He found a need for a positive, supportive publication for gay and lesbian people. Day-to-day, Ray organises clients, staff and all the things in between. He ran the queer Briz31 TV show Mind Your Bs & Qs, and one may remeber his infamous hairstyle, and also has ties to other local business ventures. He has a penchant for bad jokes and sometimes listens to classical music, but likes all types of music including rock and dance.  He created events like Big Gay Day together with his boyfriend at the time Kyle Hogan and is the drive behind supporting many worthy charities and organisations.  He has a great sense of social justice and has worked with many organisations to improve life for GLBTI people over the last 18 years.  He is Australia's longest running gay and lesbian publisher.
